Progress Muscatine requested Muscatine Power & Water record and broadcast their board meetings on public access TV and social media; and provide information packets about the agenda to the public.
MPW refused due to cost.
Progress Muscatine now requests the community join with them at the next MPW Board of Trustees meeting and once again ask MPW to increase transparency and accessibility at the public utility.
The next MPW Board of Trustees meeting is on Tuesday, November 28, at the MPW Office located at 3205 Cedar Street. A public hearing regarding the budget starts at 5:28pm, and the board meeting will follow.
You can address the issue of transparency and accessibility at the budget hearing or during the public comments portion of the board meeting, which is usually at the beginning of the meeting. If the issue of transparency and accessibility is on the agenda, the public can make comments when the board addresses the issue.
If you want to share your opinion, but cannot attend the meeting, contact MPW through your online account or call 563-263-2631.
